After a Few Hiccups Still Going Strong
RSVP has had bit of a rough go lately as the company has changed ownership twice in as many years. But now that RSVP is owned by Atlantis, the other big player in the gay cruise marketplace, there should be smoother seas ahead. The company has brought back many of the key staff who made RSVP such a great success and has gone back to doing the kinds of cruises that it did so well. The plan (at least at this point) is to keep the RSVP and Atlantis brands separate with each specializing in different types of holidays.
RSVP is often perceived as a bit of a wallflower compared to the more flashy Atlantis. But the mix of guests on both types of large ship cruises are similar and they share many of the same on-baord essentials - parties, music and entertainment. If anything, RSVP tends to attract more couples looking to celebrate a special event primarily because of the style of cruise or the generally more interesting ports of call.
The RSVP riverboat cruises are extremely popular with travellers looking for more than partying on a ship. The emphasis on these cruises is on exploring the destiations along the route and having an opportunity to meet other likeminded gay and lesbian guests.
