Rainbow High Vacations again offers a post Mardi Gras recovery week on the famous Great Barrier Reef. This traditional getaway after the fun and frolic of Sydney is a favourite way to chill on the beach for locals and visitors alike. Cairns, a two hour flight from Sydney, is the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef and your home for this recovery week. Traditionally, Mardi Gras revellers leave Sydney on Monday and fly up to Cairns in the afternoon.

These four hotels offer four different post Mardi Gras experiences. Choose the Lakes for comfortable, inexpensive option in a non-beach resort setting. The Kewarra is perfect if your looking to be right on the beach for some serious rest and relaxation. Skinny Dips is the choice if you want to enjoy an all-gay environment with lots of evening activities. Turtle Cove is great if you want to chill on the beach at a gay resort.

The Parties Package gives you a week of Mardi Gras fun - including tickets to the best (and most exclusive) parties.
The Favourites Package includes all the highlights of the Mardi Gras weekend like parade and party.
And for those on a budget the No Frills Package gives you the essentials - a roof over your head and a ticket to the Mardi Gras party.
Parties Package Terms and Conditions
The following terms and conditions apply to all Post Mardi Gras Packages. By purchasing a Post Mardi Gras Package you agree to these terms and conditions.

Deposit: A $250 per person deposit is required at the time of booking. Full payment is required at the time of booking for packages purchased on January 1, 2009 or later.

Final Payment: The final balance (except for packages with accommodation at the Lakes and Kewarra Beach) is due on January 1, 2009. The final balance for all Lakes and Kewarra Beach packages is January 15, 2009.

Cancellation: The following cancellation penalties apply to all bookings:
Cancel prior to January 1, 2009: $250
Cancel between January 1, 2009 and January 31, 2009: 50% of total package price
Cancel on February 1, 2009 or later: 100%
of total package price

Changes: Prior to departure: Once we have confirmed your arrangements in writing, a $50 per person fee may apply (on top of the cost of any applicable additional charges) for each change you request. Once in Australia: Whenever possible, all changes should be made through the Rainbow High Vacations concierge in Sydney who will process any additional charges.

Insurance: We strongly recommend that you purchase trip cancellation/interruption insurance as well as out-of-country medical insurance. Please contact us for rates. We use RBC Insurance which very competitive rates and provides flexible, generous coverage, particularly for travellers with HIV.

Documents and Event Tickets: You will receive a booking confirmation package approximately three weeks prior to your arrival date in Australia. If you have booked Sydney Mardi Gras arrangments with Rainbow High Vacations all your Cairns documents will be in the package that you pick up from the Rainbow High Vacations hospitality desk upon your arrival in Sydney. Otherwise, you documents will be waiting for you upon check in at your hotel. Full information and instructions will be included in your confirmation package. Airline electronic tickets will be sent to you as soon as the ticket has been purchased.

Travel Documentation: All visitors to Australia require a visa. Visa requirements vary depending on the passport you will use to enter Australia. Canadian and US passport holders (as well as holders of most European and some Asian passports) qualify for an electronic visa (called an Electronic Travel Authority). We can issue an ETA at no charge for our Mardi Gras clients. We strongly recommend that you obtain your ETA as soon as you have purchased your ticket to Australia just in case you are ineligible for an ETA and are required to apply for a traditional visa. All other passport holders should allow 4 to 8 weeks to apply for a visa.

Changes to Package Inclusions: Rainbow High Vacations reserves the right to modify the inclusions of your package. Since the dates of some events have yet to be confirmed, there is a small possibility that an event may not take place and, therefore, cannot be included in the final package. We reserve the right to substitute a similar event of an equivalent value if necessary.
